Professional kitchen advice before making one of the biggest investments in your home.

A successful kitchen begins long before the design itself.

Our 90-minute Kitchen Strategy Consultation is an in-depth review of the heart of your home, guided by a professional kitchen designer. It is designed to establish how your kitchen needs to work, what needs to change and the priorities that should ultimately inform its design.

Whether you are starting from scratch, planning an extension or looking to transform an existing kitchen, we assess how the room currently functions, how you move through it and how well it supports you.

We then explore how each member of your household would like to use the kitchen in the future, helping to establish a clear brief and direction.

A £350 Investment Before Making a £40,000+ Decision

A new kitchen is a significant financial commitment. Rejig Interiors kitchen cabinetry typically starts from £40,000, before worktops, appliances, lighting, furniture and other elements of the wider project are considered, making the decisions you take at the very beginning particularly important.

Before thinking about cabinetry, colours or finishes, there are more fundamental questions to answer.

How does your current kitchen work? What frustrates you? What do you need more of? How does your household use the room differently? How might your needs change? What are the priorities that your eventual kitchen design needs to resolve?

Our Kitchen Strategy Consultation creates the opportunity to answer those questions before detailed design begins.

Strategy first. Design second.

What Do We Explore?

Lifestyle

What Is and Isn't Working

What Is and Isn't Working

We want to understand what everyday life actually looks like in your kitchen.

Cooking, entertaining, working, homework, family life and even where everyone naturally congregates can influence what your future kitchen needs to achieve.

What Is and Isn't Working

What Is and Isn't Working

What Is and Isn't Working

We assess your existing kitchen and discuss the elements that currently work well alongside the frustrations you would like your new kitchen to resolve.

Sometimes understanding what doesn't work is one of the most valuable starting points for the eventual design.

What Is and Isn't Working

Your Household

We consider how you currently move through the kitchen, how it connects with surrounding rooms and whether there are aspects of the existing arrangement that make everyday tasks unnecessarily difficult.

Your Household

Your Requirements

Your Household

A kitchen rarely belongs to just one person.

We discuss how different members of your household use the room and what each person needs from the future kitchen, helping us establish priorities that reflect the people who will actually live with it.

Your Requirements

Your Requirements

Your Requirements

We explore what you would like your future kitchen to achieve, the practical requirements that matter to you and any particular challenges or ambitions that should form part of the eventual design brief.

Your Priorities

Your Requirements

Your Requirements

Not everything can carry equal importance.

Part of the consultation is identifying what matters most to you, helping establish a clear hierarchy of requirements for the next stage of the project.

Your Consultation Starts Before We Meet

We do not arrive at your home completely cold.

Once your consultation is booked, we send you our comprehensive Survey, which must be completed no later than 48 hours before your appointment.

The survey allows us to understand more about you, your household, your property and what you hope to achieve before we meet.

We review the information you provide alongside photographs, floor plans and other relevant project information. We also review the inspiration you have collected, looking for recurring themes and ideas that help us understand your preferences and the wider aspirations you have for your home.

Where appropriate, we also research your property and its context.

By the time we arrive, we already have an understanding of your project and the areas we want to explore further.

This preparation allows us to make far better use of the 90 minutes we spend together. Rather than using valuable consultation time simply gathering background information, we can focus on understanding the challenges, asking the right questions and establishing what your future kitchen needs to achieve.

What Happens During Your 90-Minute Consultation?

Your consultation is an in-depth conversation about your kitchen, your household and your future plans.

We assess the existing room and discuss how it currently functions, what you would like to change and how each member of your household envisages using the kitchen in the future.

We question, listen and identify the priorities that should ultimately inform the design.

Importantly, we are not designing your kitchen during this session.

We do not select finishes, specify cabinetry or produce a new kitchen layout as part of the consultation. Those decisions belong to the design stage, where they can be properly explored, developed and refined.

The purpose of the consultation is to establish a considered brief for that future design.

What Will You Receive?

Your personalised proposal for progressing to our full design service, including fees, payment terms and any relevant additional costs.

Pre/Consultation Summary → what we established
Floorplan → existing room reference
Design Proposal → if you want us to take it into design
Scope of Services → what that next design stage includes
Assumptions → basis of proposal
Timelines → anticipated programme
Project Example → what full design looks like
Next Steps → how to proceed

What Happens If I Continue With Rejig Interiors?

This is where strategy becomes design.

If you appoint Rejig Interiors following your consultation, we take the brief established together and begin developing your individual kitchen.

This is when we explore the detailed layout, cabinetry, appliances, materials, finishes, lighting and electrical requirements, technical considerations and the relationship between the kitchen and the wider interior.

These elements are deliberately reserved for the full design stage, allowing us the time required to explore, develop and refine them properly.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Please reach us at info@rejiginteriors.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

 No. This distinction is important.

The Kitchen Consultation establishes the brief for your future kitchen design.

We assess how your existing kitchen functions, understand how your household uses the room, discuss what needs to change and establish the priorities that your eventual design needs to address.

It does not include a proposed kitchen layout, cabinetry design, product specification, finishes, lighting design or electrical plan.

These form part of our full bespoke Kitchen Design service.

We do not believe a considered kitchen should be designed in 90 minutes.

Before proposing a solution, we need to properly understand the property, the people using it and what the kitchen needs to achieve. The consultation gives us the opportunity to establish that foundation.

If you subsequently appoint Rejig Interiors for Kitchen Design, we then have the time to explore different possibilities, develop ideas and refine the design rather than rushing to produce an immediate solution during your consultation.

Kitchen design is never truly free. Where design is offered without a separate fee, the cost of providing that service ultimately has to be accounted for within the products or services being sold.

At Rejig Interiors, we prefer to make the value of professional design visible.

We are qualified designers and our process involves considerably more than producing a computer-generated kitchen layout. We take time to understand you and your home, develop and test ideas, resolve technical considerations and refine the design with you.

Technology supports that process, but it does not replace the designer behind it. Read more here.

A conventional kitchen retailer and an independent design studio have different starting points.

A retailer will naturally work within the cabinetry and products available to them. At Rejig Interiors, the design begins with your home, your household and the brief we have established together.

When we progress into full Kitchen Design, we are not simply designing cabinetry. We consider the room as a whole, including layout, lighting, electrics, appliances, infrastructure, services and how the kitchen connects with the surrounding interior. We are deliberately not trying to design every kitchen, we want to work with clients who value considered design, long-lasting products and appreciate the time and professional skill required to develop an individual solution for their home.

Our kitchen cabinetry typically starts from £40,000, with the final investment dependent on the size, complexity and specification of your kitchen.

Your wider project budget should also allow separately for worktops, appliances, furniture, lighting and other products specified as part of the finished interior, as well as installation and any associated building or trade works.

Every project is different, and part of our process is helping you understand where your investment is best placed. Following your Kitchen Strategy Consultation, we will have a much clearer understanding of the scope of your project and can advise on the level of investment likely to be required.

Longevity is fundamental to the way we specify our kitchens.

We select best-in-class components from established manufacturers, with many of the internal mechanisms and components we specify carrying lifetime guarantees.

Guarantees on cabinetry and doors vary according to manufacturer and specification, typically ranging from 10 years through to lifetime guarantees.

Our preference is also to specify established appliance brands offering strong aftercare and warranties, with many providing guarantees of five years or more, although individual manufacturers and products vary.

Performance, construction, reliability, manufacturer support and expected longevity are considered alongside appearance when products are eventually specified.

We want to create kitchens that continue to perform for years to come, rather than solutions designed simply to look good on installation day.

Ideally, as early in your project as possible.

You do not need to have decided on a layout, cabinetry, appliances or finishes before speaking to us. In fact, we would prefer you haven't made all of those decisions yet.

If you are planning an extension or structural alterations, involving us early also allows the requirements of the future kitchen to be understood before other decisions become fixed.

No. Your Kitchen Strategy Consultation is a standalone professional service, with no obligation to progress to full Kitchen Design with Rejig Interiors.

That said, 98% of our consultation clients choose to continue their project with us. We believe this comes from the relationship we build during the consultation, the passion and expertise we bring to their project, and the confidence that comes from experiencing our approach first-hand.

If you decide to continue, we will provide a personalised proposal outlining the recommended scope for the next stage of your project and our professional fees.
